<p id="par_id3145366" class="paragraph" dir="auto">En LibreOffice Basic, los colores se tratan como valores enteros largos. El valor de retorno de las consultas de color también es siempre un valor entero largo. Al definir propiedades, los colores se pueden especificar mediante su código RGB que se convierte en un valor entero largo gracias a la <a target="_top" href="es/text/sbasic/shared/03010305.html">función RGB</a>.</p>

<p id="par_id3156443" class="paragraph" dir="auto">Al convertir números, LibreOffice Basic usa la configuración de región del sistema para determinar el tipo de decimal y de separador de millares.</p>
<p id="par_id3153092" class="paragraph" dir="auto">El comportamiento surte un efecto en la conversión implícita ( 1 + "2,3" = 3,3 ) y en la función <a target="_top" href="es/text/sbasic/shared/03102700.html">IsNumeric</a>.</p>

<p id="par_id3153415" class="paragraph" dir="auto">Los URL (<span class="emph">localizadores de recursos uniformes</span>, por sus siglas en inglés) se usan para determinar la posición de un recurso, como un archivo, en un sistema de archivos, normalmente dentro de un entorno de red. Un URL se compone de un especificador de protocolo, uno de anfitrión y uno de archivo y ruta de acceso:</p>

<p id="par_id3168612" class="paragraph" dir="auto">El uso más común de los URL en Internet es especificar páginas web. Algunos ejemplos de protocolos son <span class="emph">http</span>, <span class="emph">ftp</span> o <span class="emph">file</span>. El especificador de protocolo <span class="emph">file</span> se usa para hacer referencia a un archivo del sistema de archivos local.</p>
<p id="par_id3150324" class="paragraph" dir="auto">La notación URL no permite el uso de algunos caracteres especiales. Estos se sustituyen por otros caracteres o se codifican. La barra (<span class="emph">/</span>) se utiliza como separador de ruta de acceso. Por ejemplo, un archivo al que se hace referencia como <span class="emph">C:\Usuarios\Alicia\Documentos\Mi archivo.odt</span> en el equipo local con la «notación Windows» se convierte en <span class="emph">file:///C:/Usuarios/Alicia/Documentos/Mi%20archivo.odt</span> en la notación URL.</p>

<p id="par_id3154731" class="paragraph" dir="auto">Un <span class="emph">twip</span> es una unidad independiente de la pantalla que se usa para definir la posición y tamaño uniformes de los elementos de pantalla en todos los sistemas de visualización. Un twip es 1⁄1440 de una pulgada o 1⁄20 del punto de una impresora. En una pulgada hay 1440 twips o unos 567 twips por centímetro.</p>

<p id="par_id3153514" class="paragraph" dir="auto"><span class="emph">Map AppFont units</span> are device and resolution independent. One Map AppFont unit is equal to one eighth of the average character (Systemfont) height and one quarter of the average character width.</p>

<p id="par_id3154013" class="paragraph" dir="auto">En LibreOffice Basic, a un <span class="emph">parámetro de método</span> o a una <span class="emph">propiedad</span> que requieran una unidad de medida, se les puede especificar la información ya sea como una expresión que devuelva un entero o un entero largo sin unidades de medida, o bien como una cadena de caracteres que contenga la unidad. Si no se pasa ninguna unidad al método, se usará la unidad predeterminada definida para el documento activo. Si se pasa el parámetro como una cadena de caracteres que contiene una unidad de medida, se ignorará la configuración predeterminada.
